Why don't we rent Playstation 3's? A number of reasons. The first is that guest families aren't going to be happy paying $350 for a broken Playstation. They have hard drives and other things that can die or be easily broken. Few families would want to place a $300 deposit cash or with a credit card on a game console. Destroy a Playstation 2 and it only costs $65 in comparison.

Secondly, the game play on a Playstation 2 is great and you or your kids really don't need a Playstation 3 on vacation and I'm sure you wouldn't be happy with the rental price and the rental cost of the games. Graphics on a PS2 are great, games are on DVD's. The console also plays movie dvd's of course and if you plug it into a computer network it can go on the internet. Blockbuster hasn't rented game consoles in many years. They did rent games, but as of November 2010, both Blockbuster locations in the Florida Keys are out of business.

Third, saving games is not a big issue. We do provide a free memory card to save game play. Hotel guests also aren't going to be downloading internet content or movies anyway just to watch while on vacation, which is the point of the PS3 hard drive. The hotel/guest house itself has its own television system with movie channels. These systems are also generally a source of revenue and we don't want to compete with the hotels that are our source of customers.

If you have a Playstation 3, it will play most if not all Playstation 2 games. Playstations are more backwards compatible then any other gaming system. You can also transfer your PS2 memory cards to the PS3 with an adapter. With other systems, you have to start the game over.

The Playstation 2 plays movie DVD's too and has a network connection for online game play.

Games are only $3.00 each per day. Rent 2 get the 3rd Game FREE. Game rental without console, $4.00 each per day. Games with hardware like Guitar Hero and Steering Wheel and Pedals for race games, Singstar w/2 microphones, EyeToy, and Dance Dance Revolution w/1 dance pad are $8.00 per day. Additional games with these packages are $3.00 each.

For rental purposes all games are valued at $35.00 each. Mature rated games are valued at $75.00 each such as Rumble Roses and Grand Theft Auto Liberty City. Accessory packages of hardware and software are valued at $110.00 each.
